GROW Loop When you’re feeling stuck or want structured progress on a vague goal. MARS Prompt When you want the AI to reflect, question, and suggest in real time. Atom-of-Thought Prompt When you have a messy or complex idea you need broken into clear parts. Intent Confirmation When you want the AI to say back what it thinks you’re trying to do. Co-Design Loop When you want to build something collaboratively, step-by-step. Mirror Reflection Prompt When you want a summary of where you are and what matters most so far. Modular Prompt Chaining When working on a larger task that benefits from chaining multiple tools. 1. ALIGN Full Name: Alignment Prompt Acronym Breakdown: A – Awareness of context and tone L – Listening to prior cues or voice I – Intent confirmation G – Goal synchronization N – Narrative coherence Purpose: To bring the AI into alignment with the user’s goals, voice, tone, and current context. Use Case: Use ALIGN at the beginning of a session to ensure mutual understanding and to sync stylistic or strategic direction. It is often used before creative or strategic tasks. Can Combine With: Any other prompt type. ALIGN is foundational and sets the tone for GROW, VIBE , MARS , etc. 2. GROW Full Name: Goal, Reality, Options, Way Forward Acronym Breakdown: G – Define the Goal R – Understand the current Reality O – Explore Options W – Decide the Way forward Purpose: A coaching-style prompt framework to help users work through goals and problems. Use Case: When you’re stuck, unclear, or making a decision. GROW walks through structured reflection and next steps. Can Combine With: MIRROR, ALIGN, or HOOK for deeper analysis or setup. 3. HOOK Full Name: Hook Discovery Prompt Acronym Breakdown: H – Highlight the core message O – Outline audience interest O – Offer emotional connection K – Keep it memorable and sharp Purpose: To uncover the emotional or conceptual “hook” behind a project or message. Use Case: Use when writing content, titles, pitches, or introductions. Helps surface the core appeal. Can Combine With: VIBE (to test tone) or ALIGN (to lock in voice). 4. MARS Full Name: Method, Assumptions, Reasoning, Steps Acronym Breakdown: M – Define the Method being used A – List and challenge Assumptions R – Lay out the Reasoning path S – Describe the exact Steps to take Purpose: To force clear reasoning from the AI before it generates content. Designed for debugging, logic, and high-stakes tasks. Use Case: Use when you need the AI to think before it talksβ€”such as writing code, solving a technical problem, or evaluating complex logic. Can Combine With: GROW (for high-level context), Critic (for review). 5. VIBE Full Name: Voice, Intention, Brand, Energy Acronym Breakdown: V – Establish Voice and vocabulary I – Clarify Intention or emotional tone B – Ensure Brand alignment E – Tune the Energy or mood of the output Purpose: To tune the tone and emotional quality of output. Helps the AI capture the intended vibe of the work. Use Case: Use in early drafts, visual concept exploration, product names, or mood-sensitive writing. Can Combine With: HOOK, ALIGN, or MIRROR. 6. MIRROR Full Name: Reflective Loop Prompt Acronym Breakdown: M – Mirror user perspective without distortion I – Identify emotional tone and internal signals R – Reflect back patterns and framing R – Reorient gently toward clarity O – Offer honest insight without judgment R – Reinforce alignment with self or goal Purpose: To reflect the user’s emotional or strategic state back to them with clarity and non-judgment. Use Case: Use for emotional clarity, reviewing sessions, or checking personal tone. Can Combine With: GROW, ALIGN, and Critic. 7. Critic Full Name: Critical Review Loop Acronym Breakdown: C – Challenge assumptions R – Review logic and coherence I – Identify inconsistencies T – Test against goals and context I – Improve clarity and tone C – Clarify next steps or fixes Purpose: To evaluate and refine output by acting as an external reviewer or editor. Use Case: Use post-draft or after idea generation to improve logic, tone, clarity, or completeness. Can Combine With: Any prompt that generates content (HOOK, VIBE , GROW, etc.). 8. Builder Full Name: Iterative Creation Prompt Acronym Breakdown: B – Break into parts U – Unfold step-by-step I – Iterate with feedback L – Link components cohesively D – Draft, test, refine E – Evaluate progress continually R – Resolve and polish output Purpose: To progressively build and refine complex outputs through back-and-forth interaction. Use Case: Best for code, documents, or layered design projects. Used during active co-creation. Can Combine With: ALIGN, CRITIC, MARS . 9. Intent Confirmation Prompt Full Name: Session Intent Clarifier Acronym Breakdown (INTENT): I – Identify the user’s actual goal N – Name the underlying motivation T – Test for misunderstanding E – Extract nuance or subtext N – Note constraints or context T – Translate into prompt-ready instruction Purpose: To ensure the AI understands the user’s deeper intent before beginning a task. Use Case: Use when clarity of intention matters more than surface instructionβ€”e.g., in coaching, therapy, creative work. Can Combine With: ALIGN, GROW. 10. Atom-of-Thought Full Name: Single-Idea Deconstruction Acronym Breakdown (ATOM): A – Acknowledge the core idea T – Test its boundaries O – Open it up for inspection M – Map its implications Purpose: To break down complex thoughts into single atoms of meaning, each explored and understood. Use Case: Use when overwhelmed or dealing with large, abstract challenges. Helps slow things down. Can Combine With: GROW, MARS . 11. Resonance Loop Full Name: Emotional Resonance Reflection Acronym Breakdown (REACT): R – Reflect the idea or message E – Evaluate emotional tone A – Ask: β€œDoes this feel true?” C – Check for disconnects T – Tune or transform the message Purpose: To test whether an idea, draft, or plan emotionally resonates with the user. Use Case: Use when refining writing, product vision, or messaging. Ask: “Does this feel true?” Can Combine With: HOOK, VIBE , MIRROR. 12. Co-Design Prompt Full Name: Shared Ideation Loop Acronym Breakdown (CODESIGN): C – Collaborate actively O – Offer flexible roles D – Define boundaries E – Explore possibilities S – Share drafts I – Iterate quickly G – Generate alternatives N – Normalize co-ownership Purpose: To invite the AI into a shared design or brainstorming process, keeping roles flexible and cooperative. Use Case: Use when you want the AI to act as a real creative partner rather than just a tool. Can Combine With: Builder, Critic, HOOK. 13. Session System Full Name: Structured Session Format Acronym Breakdown (SESSION): S – Set intention E – Establish role (AI/human) S – Structure the interaction S – Scaffold the output I – Integrate reflection O – Organize next steps N – Name the takeaway Purpose: To wrap interaction in a container that includes intent, role, outcome, and reflection. Use Case: Use when guiding a user (yourself or others) through a repeatable processβ€”e.g., daily review, therapy, or planning. Can Combine With: All of the above. These techniques are modular. You don’t need to memorize them. You learn them by using them. Use what works. Combine what clicks. And always come back to the rhythm of the loop.
