Together — with what looked like coordination, among structures that had recently shared a causal history.</p> <p>It looked remarkably like <strong>flocking</strong>.</p> <p>We had spent two chapters training ourselves against exactly this reaction:</p> <p>see motion → invent a noun → believe the noun.</p> <p>But something had changed.</p> <p>We had just watched one strong interpretation survive an attempt to destroy it. The reproduction result in Outlier was no longer based only on resemblance; within our experiment it was supported by branching causal ancestry.</p>
